My favorites for the month of May...

Okay okay okay...

So, I know I say every single month that I am going to post a blog every week and I know that I am a damn lie! Last year I faithfully did a blog almost every single day well for about a month straight and then it went to once a week for about a week straight and then it went to every couple of months and you get my point...The truth is...I really don't have that much to tell that damn often. Now, I am a chatty gal and I could totally come up with a topic with each blog but who wants to really read my adventures of nothing-ness???

And so it begins...

So, instead of boring you with the details of my fabulous wkend and making you all so insanely jealous, instead I will just go ahead and post my picks for my favorite items for this past week/end. Now, I have a million favorite items for the month of May but I will go ahead and give you a little sample of what I am loving at this very moment...

The shit stuff that I totally ADORE (in no particular order):

1. Vintage Inspired Satchel Tri-Colored Handbag-->ADORES
2. MAC Ocean Berry colored Nail Lacquer (nail polish for you dummies)
3. Andy Warhol buttons (I am such a fan of multiple buttons and or pins on cardigans and jackets)
4. Torquoise/Wooden Beaded Braclet (the closure on this bracelet is what made me fall in LOVE)
5. Very Orange MAC Matte Long Lasting Lipstick (yea I'm a black girl that rocks pink and orange lipstick shades...so what???)
6. Gel Eyeliner (any excuse to actually use a paint brush and actual paint on my face is an excuse enough for me to purchase it!!!! it gives the perfect line to my eyelids and I will probably never use another eye liner in my life!!!)
7. My medicine (okay okay so that is a little weird I know, I know, but I gotta' give a shot out to the meds that are allowing me the strength of being able to type this.

And there you have it...

So, as always nothing is going on but the rent. I still get up every morning "beat my face" (for those of you who don't know that is, it is an expression "makeup folks" use when you apply makeup and your face looks insatiably gorgeous), I flat iron my hair and put my best foot forward and do the damn thing... Not too much fun and not a whole lot of excitement but as always I got a little something to tell.

Until next time...

Adore...

Blah blah blah...

So, I finally received my package from the States about 2wks ago. I haven't posted a vlog yet nor have I actually showcased any of my favorite items from the package I received from home. So, I instead of me getting into the long drawn out details I will just list my favorite items I received and or purchased for this month of April (they are in no particular order):

Things I Adore:

1. USB Charger for my Blackberry (finally I am able to charge my cell phone and chit chat with family and friends back home... I was getting to be so over skype)
2. Leaf Earrings (ADORE)
3. Blue Dragon Leather Earrings (ADORE)
4. Brass Feather Earrings (ADORE)
5. Zebra, Black, Orange Super-sized Bangles (Absolutely ADORE, this was a surprise from my Mom)
6. Gucci Oversized Shades (ADORE this newly purchased pair of shades)
7. Straw Fedora (ADORE- finally a fedora in the perfect shade, height and width I am eager and excited to wear this during the summer months)
8. Moisture Therapy Hand Lotion (ADORE, this totally makes my hands feel like a baby's ass)
9. Blemish Facial Washing Cream (ADORE. The smell alone makes me feel warm and fuzzy on the insides)
10.Lavender Foot & Leg Mask (ADORE)
11. Louis Vuitton Cherry Blossom Handbag (an oldie but a goodie, one of my favorite bags to carry during the warm summer months...I ADORE the bow on it and the colors)

Things that I am still on the fence about:

1. OPI Katy Perry Black Shatter Nail Polish: I was dying to get this item in the mail, in fact it was the most sought after item but, I am still trying to find the perfect shade combination. I think now I am hoping to get my hands on the Silver Shatter ASAP. Still not too sure about this Black Shatter thing. Perhaps I was over it before I actually got it.
2. Canon Power Shot Camera: Still trying to convince myself that this camera is much better than my standard pocket camera.

A complete waste of my fucking time:

1. Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies: Okay seriously these were just not as good as I remembered them being. Or perhaps I have just been in Soko for much too long!

Anywhooo...

Alright, well, that is about it, nothing fun, nothing exciting and as always nothing is up but the rent.

Another Day Another Dollar...

Cocka' Doodle Friggin' Doo..

So, this morning I woke up way earlier than my usual 11am wake up time. I had very little time to spare and I had to utilize my full one hour and thirty mins before my doorbell would ring. Usually my routine of waking up is the exact same every single day. I spend 30-40 minutes "hanging" out on my laptop doing absolutely nothing and then at the last minute I have to quickly get dressed and run like hell to the bus stop or hope and pray a taxi is within close proximity so that I can race to beat the clock and actually arrive to work on time.

What's a girl to do...

So, this morning I get up say my prayers and begin my morning regiment of painting my face, flat ironing my hair, selecting perfect accessories and getting dressed. This morning I had to meet with a client. You may be wondering what in the hell kind of client could you be possibly meeting up with in SoKo early in the morning. So, what kind of client? It could mean that I had a hot sexy date or it could be exactly what it says a CLIENT. Will I go into details absolutely NOT. I'd rather keep you guessing.

What's the point....

Okay so overall aside from the nausea and the mild stomach pains this week was awesome. I had a really good week. Things went well at work I did have a few bad days as far as "sickness" is concerned but overall things went really well. I really don't have anything hot and juicy to tell. So, instead of me filling this page with complete and utter bull crap I will go ahead and include a few pictures from a few of my absolute favorite items that I used this week. (also shown in my vlog at http://www.youtube.com/user/Shaybaybee726)

This that and the other...

Okay so, some of my favorites this week was a Silver/Beaded Chanel Necklace, Banana Yellow Fingernail Polish, Gold/Bead Drop Earrings, Dior Heart/Key Earrings, Two-tone Black/Gold/Rhinestone Chanel Bracelet, Gray Hooker Heels

. All of the items I totally adore and can not wait to wear more of during the nice warmer months!

Waking up like P Diddy...

As for this weekend I have no plans to party like a rock star, have a crazy one night stand or get into a bar fight. Well, I take that back if the opportunity presents it's self and if I'm not too busy doing absolutely nothing I just may do all of the above. You only live once right?

Until Next Time..

I got nothing else to tell and as always nothing is going on but the rent. Chat
oops um Blog with you next time.

April Showers Bring May Flowers...

April already, what happened to March...

Okay so, I can not believe it is already April. Wow my tenure here in SoKo is really ending quickly. I can not believe that in August I will be heading back to the States. Time really has gone by quickly. I have had my ups and downs living in SoKo but for the most part I have had many more Ups than Downs and I have truly loved every moment of my experience living here. ---> Ugh well...let me rephrase that. I had a lot of great things to happen to me and I have had some shit to happen that made me want to flip the fuck out and go cray-zay!!! :-)

One of my loves...

The thing I have enjoyed the most is the Korean Fashion/Trends. I have been able to find one of a kind, cute, stylish and totally to die for items here and it has been an effortless adventure. I can walk down the street and catch a glimpse of something that tickles my fancy on every street corner and or boutique/shop I encounter. I also ADORE the natural SWAG and style of Korean Men and Women, there style is obviously an effort but I love that the women "beat" their faces with an obscene amount of gorgeous makeup, perfect hair styles and hooker heels. That has made my experience here the most enlightening. I have always been an advocate of beauty and glamour and I have never understood how a girl can never wear makeup or take the time to doll up her eyes and or paint her lips so, I totally am able to appreciate and admire the time and effort the Korean Dolls take to look flawlessly beautiful. I can totally relate. I always chuckle when I see a Foreigner in SoKo who adopts the "Korean Guy/Doll look" and they try so hard to fit in and they end up looking shamefully, tragically and painfully LAME.

On to the next....

So, the past few weeks has been incredibly tough for me. I would classify this as being one of my "downs" here in SoKo. I have a really bad infection in my Colon and it has made my life hell for the past month. I won't get into too many details but I am currently under doctors orders and taking a crap load of "get fixed quick" pills and on a new eating regiment that is suppose to mend me back to good health from my guts to my butts!!! HE HE HE

Misery Loves Company...

Even though I was in misery I was able to be in good company. My good company was SHOPPING with me, myself and I. I am guilty and notoriously known for buying a bunch of stuff that I can not afford nor do I actually really even need. But it makes me happy and it makes me feel good and it is my guilty pleasure...In the two years that I have been in SoKo I have made A LOT of purchases. But,

of all the fancy items and good deals this week I have a few favorites that I will share with you. (I hope you enjoy my pictures: Spider Ring, Orange Lipstick, Handbag and Nail Polish)

Blah Blah Blah ...

Okay so that is it. Nothing really new, nothing too fancy and as always nothing is really going on but the rent.

Until next time...

Manic Monday...

Always in a hurry to wait...

So, this morning was Monday March 7,2011 and I actually woke up with than enough time to have brunch, check emails, skype and get ready for work. I actually woke up this morning at 10am. And I am not suppose to be to work until 2pm so that should have been more than enough time to get ready and be on time right???

If it is not ham it's spam....

So, after I ate lunch which consisted of Spam with onions, rice and yellow corn. Spam??? Yes, I have never had spam until I came to Korea. In fact, before coming here if a can of Spam had come to sit on my lap I wouldn't have even known what it was. Now don't get me wrong I have heard of it before. But, could I actually tell you which isle in the grocery store you can find it? No. Could I even tell you what it looked or smelled like. Definitely not. But, ask me that today and I damn sure could!!!

On to the next...

Okay so blah blah blah. Before heading out to work I did what comes completely natural to me. I painted my face, flat ironed my hair and stood in front of the teeny space I call a closet and stared at my clothes for a good 10mins before deciding to put on a sweater dress (can't go wrong with a sweater dress and a pair of boots in the winter. It's the easiest thing you can put on. It requires no iron and no effort.

Tick Tock staring at the Clock...

I leave home exactly 15mins before I am suppose to be at work (story of my life). So, I arrive to work run up the stairs immediately turn on the computer and sit and stare until it's time to go home Yoga.

Wide Load...

My Rope Yoga class is always really interesting and it is the best exercise class I have ever taken. Every class is new and exciting. But, today I had a different experience. I don't know what was wrong with me but I was really goofy and really giggly. The kind of giggle when you think of something in your head and you have to try like hell not to burst out in laughter. Well, let me tell you what I found to be hilariously funny today. For starters we were warming up on the mats and we did this one pose before getting into a "downward dog" where we had to place the palms of our hands on the mat and bend forward and look behind (imagine standing and putting your head between your legs). Well, when I did that, Lord and behold my back was facing the mirror and when I tucked my head under I realized I had the biggest ass in all of tne world. I mean obviously I am no small fry by any sense of the word. But my back side is as wide as hell and instead of me being humiliated and embarrased it was the funniest thing in the world to me.I do not know why it was hilariously funny that my one wide ass cheek makes two ass cheeks of a Korean woman. I just shook my head and thought to my self "Self, that's a damn shame!" Nevertheless, Yoga was really good aside from the fact that I should have skipped the vaseline on my feet this morning because as a result of that I was slipping and sliding all over the Yoga Studio today. I will definitely make a mental note to NEVER do that again.

All that glitters...

After yoga I headed home to relax and unwind. Oh, I have a brand new favorite thing for the past week or so. It is my Silver Diamond and Glitter Top Coat. I ADORE it. One thing I love about being in S Korea is that the nail polishes and the removers are not as toxic as they are in the states. So, now I can do manicures every few days. So anywho...I love my new polish and I apply it as a top coat on a million different colors and it is so super cute! I am dying to get my Crackle polish in the mail from my mom along with my new lipstick, girlscout thin mints and my earrings that I ordered from my favorite online store that will be too gorgeous during the warmer months.

Ciao...

Okay so other than that nothing new nothing fun and nothing exciting is going on with me. Today was overall a Delicious Day!

Until Next Time...

January 2011

Happy NEW YEARRRR....

Ha ha ha so I totally know I am so insanely late on posting a blog. I haven't posted a blog since June 2010. Since then I have been back to America and back and on several vacations in between. To be honest I really don't know where to begin too much has happened since my last blog but I figured since this is my last year in SoKo I will be diligent about posting blogs and will do them atleast once a month until my departure.

Last year really????...

Okay I don't know for sure if this is my last year. To be honest I absolutely LOVE it here. Well, for the most part. There are a few things I can do without such as:

1. The Staring
2. The Shoving and Pushing
3. The lack of my own automobile (which is a HUGE inconvenience---I have had my own car since the age of 16)
4. The brutal COLD
5. The lack of common sense by a lot of natives
6. The lack of common sense and ignorance of MANY foreigners

I will not go into a lot of details (or actually I will) but the ones from above is enough to drive me CRAY-ZAY!!! So, like I was saying...err typing. I really do love it here. I love the fashion, culture and the people (for the most part)but I also feel like it is time for me to return home for a little bit. How exactly long is a little bit? Well, I am not quite sure but it'll be until I SAY SO and not a minute before.

So last year???

Okay so there are so many things, people, instances that I could totally bitch about right about now but to be honest the good had totally outweighed the bad. So, I will list the top 5 things that have been the most ignorant and most mind boggling things I have heard this past year. And once I get this off of my chest I will then bypass the dumb stuff and speak about the great day I have had today....

5. Around Christmas I was invited to a Christmas Orchestra. And the woman who invited me mentioned that there would be singers from all over the world. She then asks me if I was familiar with a particular group of singers and once I told the "dumb ass" that I was not familiar with this particular group nor have I ever heard of it she then tells me they are from my "VILLAGE in AFRICA." I of course being the American that I am I WENT OFF! Of course, I went off on her and she had no idea what I was saying and or why I was so offended. So, I basically had to let that slide because she was clearly ignorant and it wasn't worth my time and or energy to explain to her that the first set of Slaves were brought from Africa in 1441 and they were first sent to Portugal and it wasn't until 1619 that Slaves came to America and I clearly can not say that my VERY extended family came from that particular Tribe. And whose to say I came from a Tribe? How do you not know my great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great (that should be about 570 years ago right??) great x's500 grand mother or great x's 500 grand father wasn't a King or a Queen and wore fancy furs and diamonds on each toe and finger??? Now here we are in 2011 (well it was during Christmas when she asked me this dumb ass question) and she really thought that I lived in that particular village. Like LADY are you friggin' serious right now? Seriously??? So, needless to say this is one of the many times I have wanted to totally do a back hand slap across someone's face. But, I didn't...But I wanted to. BADLY!!!

4. Sitting in a coffee shop with a person (from CANADA) I am asked what part of Africa did I come from. Like, are you serious right now? How can you be from North America from Canada to be exact (and you know Canada is literally just right across the street from Detroit--->may I add the majority of the population in Detroit is Black American) and you have the nerve to ask me this dumb ass question. Are you serious right now? Now, I don't want to get into details of who this person was. But, let's just say she traveled to Africa last summer and has been to many other countries and lives in NORTH AMERICA and she is that IGNORANT. Now, since she clearly lives in a population of probably 1,500 people in her city in Canada and has obviously been living under a rock I politely schooled her on her ignorance and pretended that her comment was not the STUPIDEST thing I had ever heard and finished out our evening and left it at that. Have I hung out with her since? Um, not at all. She clearly needs to read a friggin' history book and become better socialized. Her parents cleared dropped the ball on this one. Or perhaps the education system in her area has totally failed her and many others in her area in Canada. Now I can understand that better coming from someone who may be an older Native Asian. But come one someone from Canada under the age of 100! That is just ridiculous!!!!

3. "I was wondering who the guy was who works in our office and when I found out he was a Nobody I stopped being nice to him!" This comment came from a dumbass American who I work with. When she made this comment I literally wanted to scream. Who says that? So, do you really think it is okay to treat average people like shit? Really dumbass? If I didn't like your country ass before I certainly don't like you now! Ugh, don't even get me started on this dumb chick...So, like my Mom use to tell me when I was a teeny tiny gorgeous child, If you don't have anything nice to say don't say it at all. So, I won't

2. Okay so why is it that when I go to get something to eat here they only give you one of everything you need. So, lets say for instance, I go to Mcdonalds. How in the hell are you only going to give me ONE friggin' ketchup pack and ONE napkin? Like are you really serious right now? And why do you assume I want a Pepsi? Why can't you wait until I tell you what I want to drink before you assume that just because I am from Africa (ha ha ha) I like Pepsi. Seriously!!! I guess ALL Africans like Pepsi.

1. You sing like Aretha Franklin or Whitney Houston or Beyonce. Sing for us? Um, are you friggin' serious right now? So, let me get this straight I am from an African Tribe and I sing like an American woman? The things that kills me is that Oprah Winfrey is on TV everyday here. As well as Tyra Banks, Everybody loves Chris (which may I add clearly says on EVERY SINGLE episode that he is in BROOKLYN, The Game, Greys Anatomy, House and countless other shows and Beyonce, Mary J Blige, Neyo, Usher, Will I Am, Nicki Minaj, Rhianna, India Arie and many many other people are forever shaking their ass all over the TV and not ONE time did it say they are from Africa. Like seriously just because I am African (ha ha ha pun intended) I can sing? Ugh...I don't know which one bothers me the most the annoying ignorant Canadians, the stupid/frumpy Americans or the sad sad sad mis-informed Koreans.

Making a long story longer...

Now, I don't want to make it seem as though things here are awful because they are totally not. Infact if they were I would have gone home long ago. I do love it here and this is only a few of the dreadful things that have totally pissed me off. But out of the 365 days a year this is really my only complaint from 2010. Not bad huh?

On to the good stuff....

Okay so, I am on my vacay and I have spent days looking up tours and resorts and places to visit (okay not days but I did spend like an hour or two over the course of like 2 days)and I decided I didn't really want to go anywhere. I figure I can do that at any time. Also, I have lost some weight and I didn't want to put it all back on. Me and my sexy self decided to stay in and continue to watch my weight oh and stare at my sexy self in the mirror non stop. So, I did what any other girl would do. I have been shopping and hanging out and having a really awesome time with my SELF!!! And I have totally LOVED every single minute of it. One thing that I totally enjoy about hanging out with me is that I am on my own time. If I want to sleep in or have a change of plans or decide to spend extra time in one particular store or get mani's and or pedi's it is totally up to me. I find that when I hang out with others. People are always on a budget. Counting their coins and rushing you. And I find that there are not a lot of people (foreigners that is) that are like me. I like to shop, I love being pampered, I love being a girl and I have champagne taste (usually always on a Pepsi budget) but hey that's my right to spend all that I have on shoes or whatever useless item that makes me happy.

Okay so, this blog is so much longer than I actually intended for it to be....So I will be sure to post another blog this week and maybe I will throw in a couple of pictures and blah blah blah...

Alright well, that is about it. Next blog will be filled with sexy adventures, fancy stuff and juicy conversations...

Until Next Time...

If this world were mine...

And it all falls down...

So, this is how it began. Last week I was up late at night (as usual) and I decided to check out my bootleg movie website to see if my beloved "Sex and the City" was up and running. I did the normal procedure of opening the website and finding the best quality and began to get all warm and fuzzy when all of a sudden my screen went black. I thought, oh hell, now what is this? But, I didn't panic I did what any other laptop junkie would do. I shut off my computer. Flipped it over, took out the battery "blew on it" and thought voila.

Pick up the pieces...

So once I put the battery piece back into the back of my laptop and turned it back on I just knew that it would be up and running as it had been before. It starts and that same annoying black screen comes up telling me it needs to be re-started so I then click all of the necessary buttons so that it is able to start on it's own.

2 days and 15 hours later with No Skype, No Facebook and no G-Mail...

My computer is back up and running. So, because my schedule with work was so hectic it took me a little longer than I wanted to get it fixed. But, nevertheless, It was fixed. Now is it back to new? It sure is. So new that it's naked! Everything was wiped off of my computer! In order for the Computer Tech chick to fix my laptop she had to delete all of the files on my laptop. All of my pictures, videos, music and gadgets were completely removed! My laptop was so pimped out everything was perfectly displayed so that I didn't even have to read and or think. All I had to do was look at a picture and open it's page. Now I feel like I am back in the stone ages. I have to manually search for websites, actually read and pay attention to everything I do. Now, on the bright side my laptop is running perfectly. On the downside, all of the setting are in KOREAN. Now you are probably wondering how in the hell are you able to read that. I absolutely can not. But after clicking all Korean words on each page I have some way mastered figuring out how to get by memorizing how to open and close and get through each page. Eventually, I will take my laptop back and get that shit off of there. But, in the mean time atleast I am learning a lot more Korean than what I knew and in no time I should be speaking fluent Korean. Even though the words will only be computer related but hey, I'll sound super smart and intelligent.

Summer Breeze...

So, the weather here in SoKo has been so insanely delicious! The sun is out and there is a bit of a breeze and it feels good to have removed all the layers of clothing that I was wearing just a few months ago. The shitty part is that I still don't feel like myself here. Normally I am really into the way I look I love clothes and shoes and makeup and all pretty things. Shoes and clothes are my thing. That is what I am known for. Here, not so much. I feel so blah! I don't have my stuff with me. Now, a lot of my things were sent but I just don't have it in me. I just don't have the desire to really get dolled up. I have never been the type to dress for others it was always for me. Never for attention or to show off or anything like that. Only for me. Now, don't get me wrong I still wake up every morning and paint my face and flat iron my hair. But, truth be told. I rarely put on a pair of heels. Infact, only recently I began wearing heels again and that is only because I will be home in August and all of my shoes are high heels and I need to get back use to wearing them. But, back to what I was saying. I just don't have the desire to get dressed. SoKo is very fashion forward so you would think that I totally would be into it. But, I feel the exact opposite. In fact, I feel very girl next door. Very plain jane. Something that I have NEVER been and I kinda' like it. I think I am so low key because no one actually expects anything from me here. Here I am just Shayla. Back home. I was "SHAYLA." Very trendy. If the latest technology came out I was one of the first to have whether it was a phone, dress, shoes or purse I had to have it first! Now, not at all. Maybe that is the American me. But the Korean me is like "fuck it." now, like I said, I still get dressed but only when I feel like it not when it is expected.

If I ruled the world...

Now, like I said, Summer is here and I am kinda missing Florida things. For some reason I miss the beach, I miss Summer Dresses with Crazy High Heels, I miss Rita Pita, I miss my niece Angel, BBM'ing, talking on the phone with friends all night and all morning who are in the same time zone, lunch dates with my Mom, singing to the top of my lungs while driving my pimped out car and listening to satellite radio, my high heels, my handbags, my accessories, my old place and a bunch of other things. I think I'll be okay when I return home this summer and have access to my things. And when I return back to SoKo that should be enough to hold me over until I return back home sometime next year. Or maybe I will find that those things aren't really all that important. On second thought it totally is all that important and I can't wait to have it all back!

That's that...

Alright, well, nothing fun, nothing exciting. Just a day in my life in my thoughts with me.

Until Next Time...

I got nothing...

Wednesday, 2nd of June...

Glam or No Glam...

Today, I did not put on any clothes, make-up, shoes or even pants for that matter. I did absolutely nothing and that is exactly what I wanted to do and I enjoyed every single second of it.

Long Time No Chat...Or Blog...

Alright, So I can't believe it has been so long since my last Blog. The month of February seems like such a blur. There is no way I can catch you up on all that I have done because I can't even remember all that I have done. It has been much to long. So, how about I start from today.

Nope, Nada, Nothing, Zilch, None, Zero...

So, I am suppose to be typing something fun, interesting, exciting and completely worth while. But I got NOTHING. In fact the other day I was fbook chatting with a friend and my friend asks "So, Shayla tell me about you what have you been up to?" My response "Nothing at all." Her response "Shayla, how is that possible?" Well, it totally is. I haven't been up to anything. Or maybe nothing that I find worth telling. I think in the honeymoon phase of my transition here to SoKo (S Korea) everything was so interesting and fascinating I felt that I had to take a million pictures of everything and felt the need to capture every single possible moment. Nowadays, not so much. SoKo has become home and there isn't really much that I have to tell anymore.

Speaking of...

Actually I do have one thing to tell. So, as everyone knows who is a fbook friend of mine, I am eagerly anticipating the arrival of the Sex and the City movie. It came out in the States about 2wks ago and it wont be here until the 10th of June. Which by the way, is marked on my Calendar at home and everywhere else (as if I am going to actually forget the date). I have seen every single Sex and the City HBO episode and I play the Sex and the City DVD atleast 2 a month so you could only imagine how I am about to burst at the seams.

Tougher than Usual...

This blog I think is the hardest that I have had to write, normally I can go on and on about any possible random subject but when ya' got nothing ya' got nothing to type.

Wait I do have a lil' something...

Well, I do have one more teeny tiny thing to tell. I began cooking! Yes, I cook dinner almost every night now. I even subscribed to Betty Croker (that online site) and I have an online Recipe Box. Nope, I am not cooking Korean Food at home and in case you are wondering I still don't have a Korean Cell phone and I still speak hardly any Korean. I am an American Girl living in a Korean world (well country) and that is exactly how I like it. So, back to this cooking thing. I am pretty good at it too. I still need to working on my seasoning skills I think I tend to over season almost everything but things are looking and tasting good. Darn good if you ask me.

What else...

That's it! I think maybe I am trying to remember something worth telling. Something fun and exciting but I can't think of a damn thing. I know I did something since February that was totally interesting...Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Yea actually I do have some juicy stuff to tell. But it's late here and I am getting so super sleepy. I will write it down (if I remember) and I will tell it all in the next Blog.

Alright well that is it. Nothing new & Nothing exciting...

Until Next Time...

Thursday, Feb 18th, 2010'

First things first...

So, I got up hella' early this morning as I was going to head out to meet a friend for lunch, followed by a little shopping and then the rest of the day spent in Yeosu (the next town over). I was so super tired this morning. Why? Because my idea of having fun on my vacation consists of staying up all night and all morning doing absolutely nothing. So, when my blackberry/alarm clock went off this morning I asked my self, "Self why in the hell did I agree to meet up at 12pm instead of let's say around 3?" Needless to say I did what I do every morning. I powered up my laptop and checked my emails and then sat around until the last minute and then rushed to get ready.

The early bird gets the wha'?

After I did the morning ritual of getting showered, getting dressed, painting my face, throwing on a cap (because I assumed it was going to be much too windy and me hearing the wind whistling through my apartment this morning-made this the best option for the day), a scarf, boots, jacket, grabbed my bag and headed out the door. I was destined to be on time today. In fact, I wanted to be a little early. I don't like running and I don't like be pressed for time. After I hailed my cab I arrived at the restaurant really early. I couldn't tell you the time I arrived because I don't carry a cell phone nor do I ever wear a watch. But I assume it was super early because I left my apartment at 11:20am and I am pretty sure I got dropped off about 15mins later. And since I got dropped off across the street let's just say it took me about 8 mins to get to the location of the restaurant. So after my mental calculations I would say I arrived at the restaurant around 11:53am and I wasn't suppose to be there until noon. So, yea I was early.

Yummy Yummy in my tummy...

So, lunch was amazing as always. And I must say when you are in good company the food always seems to taste a lot better than what it actually is. Well, that and being super hungry. So, after we got our belly full. We (who is we? Myself, Korean Rachel & Sarah) head downtown for a little shopping.

These streets will make you feel brand new, The lights will inspire you...

Okay, I must say shopping in Korea is bananas. I absolutely love that the stores blast music and it is uncensored! I love that when I walked into the store today they were blasting "Empire State of Mind" w/Jay Z & Alicia Keys and it was TOTALLY not even edited. No, it wasn't the radio version. Honey, it was the original copy. Too funny. Before I came to Asia everyone always said how conservative it was and how you must dress a certain way and you are not suppose to do this and that. And it is totally the OPPOSITE of what everyone has said.

Feet, why must you always bother me?

So, after walking and walking and walking, we then decide to head to Yeosu. By this time my feet were killing me. Not even sure why my feet were hurting so bad. Perhaps it was just the cold. Perhaps, I was just tired or perhaps my feet were just hurting just because. I was so excited to finally sit on the bus and take this ride to Yeosu.

No, I still don't speak Korean...

So, I sit down on the bus and I have it all to myself (the seat that is) and I have my bags sitting next to me and I have my feet kicked up and I am chilling. Really chilling. I pull back the shades on the bus and let the heat of the sun kiss my cheeks (funny thing, being from Florida I never realized how much I love the sun on my face until I got here. I really love it. I put it in the same category as the way I love the smell of a new born baby and fresh laundry in the dryer.) I noticed that Harry Potter is playing on the T.V and I am sitting back and enjoying the ride.

Until...

The bus comes to a stop and an older Korean woman passes 7 empty seats (how do I know it was exactly 7? Because as soon as she sat down I sat up in my chair and counted and looked back at her like, "are you serious?" Of course I didn't actually say this to her but if she could read my thoughts she would have been like "oh no you didn't!") So, as soon as she sat down I really should have gone with my first mind and pretended to be asleep. But I don't. The Korean woman politely jabs me in my arm and speaks to me in Korean. I look at her and say "No Habla es Korean." Yes, I do. She then looks at me and smiles and repeats what she just said to me and I then decide to not say it in Spanish but maybe English. I say "Noooooooo Korean." She then laughs and looks at me and then says it again in slow motion. So by this point I put my fingers up and make an X and say "Korean NO." So, then she looks away. And I then think this is the perfect time to fall asleep. She then politely jabs my in my arm again and says "Yeosu Suncheon or Suncheon Yeosu?" So then by the common sense I was born with, I assume she is asking if I am going to Yeosu and asking if live in Suncheon. So, I wanting to impress her with the only 15words of Korean I know. Gladly respond with a "Nayyyyyy Suncheon going to Yeosu." Ha ha and she was impressed. We had a brief chat. She not understanding what the hell I was saying nor me understanding what the hell she was saying. But it was good. I enjoyed it. She agreed with me and I agreed with her, It was the perfect conversation.

Enough already and on with the Good Part...

So, Rachel, Myself and Sarah have a fabulous dinner. Which was absolutely amazing! And after a long fabulous day I head home. So, I catch the bus to Suncheon from Yeosu and it is smooth sailing. It is really dark and really late and I really want to take a nap but I can't chance it. I can't take the chance of missing my stop. So, I stay up and next thing you know I am pulling up to the Suncheon Bus Terminal. Yea, I am home and I am excited. I stand up grab my shopping bags and I hand the driver my bus pass and bam!

Tumble weeds aren't the only things tumbling down...

I fall out of the bus! How in the hell does one fall off of the damn bus? I yelped to the top of my lungs and slowly get up clinching all of my bags in my hands and I slowly limp into the bus station. I got no time to check my wounds but it sure didn't feel good. I had knocked the wind outta myself. I limped into the bus terminal and stood there in the middle of the terminal looking wild and crazy! I didn't know where I was or what I was doing and where I should be going. I finally got it together and realized I was home. My mind told me to walk out and act as if nothing had happened and to not look back. I proceeded to walk out the door and was dragging my foot on the ground and unable to bend my knee. I prayed to God, to please just let me make it to my cab. I hailed a cab and threw myself in and said the name of my destination and threw my head back on the head rest. My shin, knee & leg was killing me. All I could do was try to think of the name of the hospital that I was in when I was sick not too long ago. I was afraid to look. I really thought the bone would be sticking out. It was painful!

Getting out and getting up...

So, the taxi driver drops me off and turns around to watch me slowly get out of his taxi. Slowly throw one leg out at a time. Slowly stand up. Slowly stand on my legs. Slowly stretch my back. Slowly reach back into the taxi and grab my bags. And slowly walk up to my building. I get home and take off my boots (those damn Coach Boots), take off my jeans (afraid of what I may see) and limp into the bathroom and hose off my leg and put neosporin all over the skin that has been removed and limp back into the bedroom and call it a night.

The pain comes out at night...

My leg is killing me. No, it was not embarrassing falling out of the bus. Nor was it embarrassing hobbling to my apartment. Thank God it wasn't much more serious than what it was. But, how exactly am I suppose to host a small dinner get together tomorrow night for Neicy & Aisha and I can barely move let alone cook.

It could have been worse. And it could have been a lot better.

As for now, this is it. Kinda new, a little exciting and definitely interesting.

Until Next Time...

It was Feb 12th...

To Vlog or not to Blog, that is the question...

Okay so, I have not done a blog in a little over 2 months. Why? Because I just haven't really thought much about it thats why! But, tonight I did. Technically it is early Saturday morning for me. But nevertheless I thought about it today and decided to do a little bloggy-blog.

So what's new???

Not a darn thing is new. Well, actually yesterday I decided to put up some hand painted stencils in my bedroom and living room area and couldn't seem to stop once I began. Well, let me just say this, anytime I begin any project or assignment I can't seem to do the bear minimum and I NEVER know when to stop I'll keep going and going and going. Some would say "she ain't got no stopping sense!" And yes, that is true, true indeed. "I ain't got NO stopping sense!" So with that being said, I began my little project yesterday. I finished it and LOVED it. I even took photos and sent them to my Mom for her to agree or disagree. Of course she loved it. Because for one I am her child and for two she thinks I am the coolest thing on planet earth. (but I am sure everyone's Mom feels the same way about their kid) And I am one of the coolest people on planet earth....

To make a long story even longer...

Like I was saying I finished my project last night. And was really satisfied with it. I then decided to go to bed and wake up early this morning and add more stuff to my walls. When I woke up I thought about it and thought about it and thought about it some more and decided that I would hold off on it. It is good right now and I really didn't think I should go forth and "over do it." So hours and hours passed and at 9pm I couldn't take it anymore. I threw on a pair of sweats, sneakers (okay not REAL sneakers cause' I don't own a pair of those-they were Converse), my hoodie, a scarf and a coat oh and a hat and ran out the door. I began my trot to the store. Headed to get some more stuff to decorate the walls in my apartment. So when I got to the store and to the home section and all of a sudden there was rumbling in my tummy. I couldn't spend the amount of time I needed nature was CALLING and I had to ANSWER. So, I grabbed some stuff (praying that it was what I wanted) and quickly decided to grab a light bulb (the light in my kitchen hasn't worked in about 2 months. Why? Because I haven't thought to get a bulb for it. Oh and because I figured the light in the bathroom and my bedroom works so why not use that to cook with) - dumb I know... but anyway. So, I quickly throw my stuff on the conveyor belt and pray to God the cash register check out lady quickly rings me up so that I can get home...

Good things come to those who wait...

So, after I got my crap and headed up the hill. My stomach was jumping all over the place. I damn near had to clench my butt cheeks together and hope and pray that I was able to make it. Whew I did...I won't get into the details of that.

Pretty is as Pretty does???

Okay, so I decide to begin with the light bulb first. I grab a chair and drag it to the kitchen area, stand on top of it and grab the light bulb to make sure it was the right size (no, I didn't do that ahead of time, why? cause I am a visual person and I assumed from the measurements I took with my eyes that it would fit) So, then I spend the next 15mins trying to figure out how to successfully remove the old/bad light bulb with out getting killed and insert the new one. When the light came on, I then realized cooking in the dark wasn't the brightest idea and I also couldn't believe how bright things were in the kitchen. Wow having light really does make a big difference. So, now off to the bedroom to put up my new fancy decorations. So, I put them on the wall and after I am done I realize I did not grab enough so now I have a half ass finished wall. I was so ticked off. I had been thinking about it all day long and now I have to go to sleep with it not being done. I guess round two will be tomorrow. I will finish it and it will be gorgeous. Simply gorgeous.

In a nutshell...

Today, I did not brush my hair. I did not put on any makeup. I cooked. I cleaned. I interneted (if that is even a word). I watched tv. I listened to music. I did a little home decor'ing. I installed a light bulb and that was it.

Nothing fancy, Nothing Exciting....

Tomorrow I will post a Vlog on my facebook page about other things that I want to talk about. But for now this is it.

Until Next Time...

December where did you come from...

Christmas in Korea...

so, it is finally December and i have been in S Korea for over 4 months now. it seems like i have been here for so long. i must admit that i became really homesick around the last week of November. it could have been the holidays or it could have been just my moment of being over it all. i quickly got over the homesick phase. i emailed a message to one of my bffs. bholley and explained to him that i was over it and he quickly reminded me how lame i was and how i just needed to stick it out and to shut up and leave me alone and that he didn't want to hear it. and i figured it was best to just stay in a foreign country because if i were actually in America and if he had actually said that to me, i would have driven to Miami and beat him with a pair of 4 inch stilettos. but anyway, i am excited to say that i am still in s Korea and i am excited that there are Christmas decorations in my city. although i usually dread the holidays and all that it stands for but it is a little piece of home.

new do'

so, i got my hair cut last wkend while Milly (a Canadian) chick and i went to Seoul for the wkend. i wont get into all of that. but my hair chick did a really good job and i will definitely be back. my hair doctor Mr G would be pleased with my cut. back in the states i got my hair cut and often did hair shows for my doctor (my hair guy, i call him a doctor because he works it out all over my head). i think when i return back home, he will be pleased with what i return with.

speaking of...

so, like i said i was in seoul last wkend and i will be returning next week. this time around it wont be for fun nor will it be for pleasure. i really love seoul and i love being there. but this time around it will be a forced trip kind of like a business meeting. and the only part that really sucks about it is that i HAVE to attend. and i just dread absolutely dread doing anything mandatory. mandatory and i don't work well together. in fact i will do the complete opposite of what i have to do. but in this instance i am going to forget that i don't want to be there and forget that most of the people are lame and immature and i will have a good time. whether i want to or not. i'll just tell myself that if i think bad things that bad things will happen and i plan on having fun and forgetting that i am forced to be there. i really shouldn't say that. considering that i have people from my fbook page that will also be at this meeting. and for anyone who is actually attending this meeting with me and anyone who actually reads this. i'm sorry. it's not you it's me and please don't take it personal. i have come to realize that facebook is taken way too seriously and someone could possibly think i was directing this to them. and i don't wanna create any animosity.

other than that...

not too much is going on. work is going great. i look good and i feel good most of the time. i am in positive spirits. i love the city i live in. i love my hair. i love my makeup. and i love the new shoes that i just bought the other day. and i must say that i need a new pair of shoes like i need a hole in my head. about that whole diet thing that i mentioned during the last blog. well, i haven't really actually buckled down and really done it like i should. i have cut back a little. a very little. but i will be getting serious. once i return back from this seoul trip. okay not this trip because i will be back the following wkend. how about i just say that i will buckle down come the first of the year. i have decided to use bholley's fashion photographer when i return back to the states. i really want to do a cool classic 40's pin up photo shoot, and i am envisioning my self with halter short dresses and a polka dot bikini and i can't pull that off right now, so i have work to do so that when i return i can have a fabulous photos shoot. and i am excited. i have even decided to get with a new friend here and begin salsa dancing lessons and going to yoga with rachel (my neighbor) in the new year. in no time i will be back to my inner sexy self. i've seen the work of bholley's photographer and i don't say this often but i was impressed really impressed and i gotta get my sexy on.

almost forgot...

in my last blog i also mentioned that i have come across this fabulous website where you watch all of the new releases. and i love it. i can't stay off of it. in the past week i have seen about 13 movies or so. well, to be honest i had no choice but to watch movies. the week before last i was rearranging my apartment and disconnected my cable and was shit out of luck with watching tv for a good week (well until the cable man could come out) which by the way he did early monday morning to be exact. i was in mid shower during mid lather and i heard a knock at the door. and it was freezing in my apt. i had to quickly hose off and throw on the clothes on the dirty clothes pile and answer the door. shower cap and sudsy face and all. needless to say he fixed my cable and explained to me (to the best of his ability) that i had the cords all wrong. but that's neither here nor there. the bottom line is that i have my cable on. and i haven't turned on the tv since he came to fix it. i can't stay off of this movie site. and the fact that it is freezing outside makes me want to cuddle at home even more. and what better way than to watch movies and sip hot chocolate. (thank God for my aunt roz's care package)

alright so...

nothing else is going on. things are going really well and i have nothing to complain about. i am sure a lot of interesting things have happened since i last blogged. but i just can't seem to remember them all right now. i will definitely blog more often.

until next time...

Toss up Tuesday....

who licked the red off of your lollipop...

i woke up this morning in the worst mood ever. for me that is rare. i am a morning person and me waking up has NEVER been as issue. today, not so much. i was pissed off this morning and for no apparent reason. i got up this morning and got ready for work. i did the usual, i showered, painted my face and actually today i did not flat iron my hair. i pulled my hair back into a PONYTAIL. yup a ponytail. if i were back at home my hair would have been cut and styled by mr.g and never at a length to actually sport a pony tail. and i am kinda' liking the pulled back ponytail. this is like the 2nd time i have worn a ponytail here. now, next week i am suppose to have my hair cut and if i cut it i wont have the option of wearing a pony tail on the days i don't want to flat iron it. (okay, i have totally gotten off the subject - back to my day) i made a skype call to my mom. i explained to her that i was really annoyed and that i was sick of working and was ready to stop working and become the fabulous rich woman that i am meant to be. my mom's exact words were "who licked the red off of your lollipop this morning?" and then she asked "well are ya' home sick?" i then had no answers. and then i realized how insane i must have sound and before i realized it, it was time for me to gather my belongings and get to work. i'll figure out the rich part later.

getting it on...

when i finished my pep talk with my mom i had just enough time to gather my belongings and walk out the front door. i arrived to work and had a fabulous day! nothing else to mention about it. it was just a really good day.

lose my breath..

so, after work i headed home and had dinner and watched another movie. tonight i watched "The Proposal" and it was a really cute movie. after seeing the nude scene with sandra bullock in the bathroom and walking into the bedroom in search of a towel. i suddenly got the "urge" to get serious about my "body." i actually went to the dirty clothes hamper (why there? well, because all of my sweats were in there and i did not have time to do laundry and that is besides the point) i grabbed a t-shirt and a pair of sweat pants. i rolled out my yoga mat (which i got yesterday) and i did aerobics exercise for about 3o mins. actually it was 46 mins but i deducted 16mins from the numerous times i had to all but give myself cpr. i am so outta' shape it's not even funny. so, since i plan to marry rich and be a kept woman i have literally 1 year and about 8 months to get it right and that is more than enough time.

okay...

so, after my half ass attempt to work out, i actually feel pretty good. i played beyonce's single ladies and lets just say i know that song burned atleast 400 calories. i played the actual video and did the dance moves. lets just say if i did that song and the dances to that song atleast 4 times a day i will be so super sexy in no time. well, that and cut out the pizza and cookies. which i have already done. im excited! i am almost so super jealous of myself. the old shayla is coming back! and i cant wait to see her again.

nothing else and nothing new...

my day was great, nothing too exciting and nothing fun. just another great day! it began a little rocky but it quickly smoothed out.

until next time...

Sunday November 15th

Yes, so it has been about 2 weeks since my last blog and I have clearly not been posting my blogs as often as I have stated the last few blogs.

Oh well, what can I do? Not a damn thing but post a blog today.

So, because I can never seem to remember anything more than 2 days out, I will only really blog about today and maybe even yesterday I won't get into the past couple of weeks because I simply just cant remember it. This is one of the reasons why I take so many pictures. So, if you want to know what has happened in the past two weeks check out my photos on my fbook page.

Alright, today I did absolutely nothing and that is exactly what I wanted to do. I stayed in my apartment the entire day. Well, I did open the door for the Delivery Guy. Which by the way I shouldn't have ordered anything considering that my midsection is quite chubby. But hell, I will just deal with that tomorrow.

So, what did I do all day long. Not a damn thing is what I did. I got up around noon. I did not Wash my face, I did not put on any clothes and I did not even attempt to open the curtains in my bedroom. I turned on my laptop and Skyped an old friend. We chit chatted for a little over an hour. And I realized that I really should keep in contact with some of the friends that I have met over the years. Now, I am not one to have a million and one friends. I have never been that way. But, it is good to have a few good friends. And from now on I think I will remind myself of that every so often. So we chit chatted for a few and had an "adult conversation." You know the type of conversation that you have with someone and they are just as interested in what you are doing as you are in what they are doing. A conversation where you are actually conversing. You are not listening to the other person talking on and on about their silly life and their silly problems. But an actual conversation where you are engaged with one another. I call that an "adult conversation." Now don't get me wrong, I have had that in S Korea. Surprisingly I have met good people that I could and would definitely keep in contact with when this traveling thing is all said and done. And those people I have established friendships with and others it's not that important to me and I simply just wont waste my time. So, my friend and I chatted for awhile and I then thought okay what next.

Well, then I got an email from a family friend asking how things were going here and was I ever going to return to a career in Fashion. And then I thought shit, now what. So, I spent the next 45 minutes thinking about my future. Oh lord! Yes my future. Should I stay and do this Korean thing. Should I pursue a Fashion Career here? Should I return back to my fabulous place in Florida or should I return to America and move to the Big Apple? I don't know. My mother and I just spoke about appearances the other day and when you work in the fashion industry. It is all an Image game. You have to look the part from head to toe. Its been awhile since I have worked in Fashion and or Photography. Since I have gained, lost and gained weight. So, then I realized if I truly want to return to that superficial world I gotta get my Sexy Back. And then I realized is that really that important to me anymore? And I have realized "Hell yea!" So what am I going to do. I gotta get serious! That's what I got to do. I have a little over a year to get right and get it back to shape. How in the hell am I going to do that? Well, cut backs will be a bitch but it better be worth it!

Then what... so after I had a heart to heart I remembered that I discovered a really cool Movie Website and decided to watch a movie. I turned on the "Hangover" and laughed hysterically! That was a hilarious movie.

Okay, so aside from that not a damn thing happened today and that is exactly how I liked it. My Mom has brought to my attention that I curse a lot. I told her no way, I am a lady and a classy lady doesn't curse like a damn sailor. Oops I guess I am not as classy as I thought. I guess I do curse a lot. Well, if I offend any damn body while they are reading my damn blog. That's too damn bad!!!

Okay so, nothing exciting, nothing fun just another good day!

Until next time,
Smooches

Long time no B-L-O-G

okay, so before i begin i must say that my intentions were good, really they were. i mentioned in the last blog that i would not be posting a blog once a week (too much info to try to recall in one sitting and that i would be doing it atleast twice a week). that didn't work out like i planned. but i think i am back on track and from here on out i will be posting a blog much more often than once a week.

i won't bore everyone to tears with the day by day and minute by minute details of the past 2 wks. i have been ill and i have been busy and it's too much to get into. so, i will start with today.

waking up shayla on tuesday's...

so, last night was quite chilly and for the life of me i can not seem to figure out how to work the digital floor heating unit in my korean apartment. it seems as easy as walking over to the thermostat and turning it on right? um yea okay. not so much. so much more complicated when the instructions are in korean. so needless to say i don't know how i slept so comfortably in my chilly apt last night. but apparently i did because i was so knocked out when my blackberry/ alarm went off very early this morning.

now right now???

i eased out of bed this morning and shut off my blackberry alarm. and like i do every single morning. i look at the clock look at my hands and point to each finger as i manually count each hour, minute and second of how much sleep time i can get in before i have to be to work (of course figuring the time it takes to get ready). this morning, unlike most mornings i actually decided not to put my alarm on snooze and i slowly went into the bathroom turned on the shower and got in and continued the daily routine of getting ready for work (painted my face, half ass flat ironed my hair and layered on about 6 pieces of clothing and ran out the door and as usual i was in a rush to hail my cab.

working it out...

today like most days was a really good day. no complaints. oh actually i almost forgot. so you know how i refer to my blackberry as the blackberry/alarm clock well yesterday i had the pleasure of finding out that the entire time i have been in s korea it has actually served more than just an alarm clock. ha, i totally forgot to change the settings on it so that it automatically goes into "wifi"mode when there is no service available. lord and behold for some strange reason the other day (sunday) i for some reason (God) walked over to the table that my phone has been on since the day i have arrived and picked it up and went to the options icon and turned on the wifi and it had a signal! i was shocked. for some reason i assumed it had no coverage but because i am still under my t-mobile contract i carried my phone to use only for emergencies during my travels in s korea. so, i hadn't thought to turn it on because i wouldn't really need to use it. ( i skype it up). so when i try to find a wifi connection all of the wifi subscribers have locks on their wifi so i wasn't sure if it was actually going to work. so before i headed to work i stuck the phone in my purse and figured that i would try it outside of the building. and when i got to work i heard a tmobile jingle and my heart skipped a beat. my phone was letting me know that i had wifi access and i got a ton of messages on phone that hadn't been retrieved in months! of course i dont open the messages because i am sure it is quite expensive so i do what anyone does when the find out their phone is working i make a call! of course i do! shayla isn't that going to be expensive and why would you do that? well, i just had to see if it was actually really working. so i called my mom. and my intentions were just to let it ring and then hang up. but the ring was so pleasant that i let it continue to ring until i heard my mom's voice. so what did she say when she recognized my old phone number she answered "why are you calling me on your cell phone?" of course i said..."just checking it out...gotta go bye" i was tickled pink. now why was i so excited about this? i do not know. and now that have finished this blog. i dont really know why i have spend the last few minutes spending so much time on this topic.

okay...well thats that

so, nothing really new, nothing really exciting and until next time...

smooches!

ring ring...

so this is how it's gonna be???

so, as promised i am going to begin posting my blogs atleast twice a week. it was way too hard trying to remember each day of the week for one posting on sunday.

so here we go...

monday...

so i went to bed so insanely early monday morning. i slept so late in the evening on sunday i was up the entire night and most of that morning. so i woke up quite early and did my usual routine. of course i showered, flat ironed my hair (speaking of flat ironing my hair i had no choice but to flat iron my hair as a result of my curling iron dying on me). so anyway, so i headed to work. today was not as smooth as it normally is. it just seemed like such a long day. perhaps it was as a result of having such a stressful weekend. well, not really stressful but well, i am not quite sure. i will just call it "uneventful."so at work i was somewhat irritable which i tried not to display my "mood." perhaps it was a combination of going to bed seriously late or just "one of those days." monday i had nothing much going on.

which brings me to tuesday...

so yesterday was my late day i am not scheduled to be to work until pretty late in the afternoon. upon my arrival i was told that i had a presentation scheduled for sometime in november, however, my "idea" of my presentation was due on thursday in addition to so many other assignments that must be completed before the end of the week. i was like wtf is going on. seriously. how do i go from doing my own thing to working like a slave on a hot summer day in 1903. (well, i better not say that, that wasn't nice huh?) but anyway, you get my drift. so of course when i got the news i politely rolled my eyes. sucked my teeth did a half ass smile and said through clenced teeth "sure, no problem i will have all 4 projects completed for you by friday." (but in my head i was like "oh no dis b-*c@ didn't!") but, i successfully completed my day and on the way home i stopped my the accountants office to say "have a good day" and i as shown 2 boxes that had arrived from my mom with goodies from my mom and my aunt. i was excited to get home and crack open my box. really put me in a good mood. i finally went home with a smile on my face and tore into my box and then diligently worked on the tasks that were placed before. in a way, i have nothing to complain about. i work with the best staff in my city and they really take care of me and they show me so much love. and i definitely want to continue a good relationship with them. and technically they really don't ask for much. but sometimes i'm like "yea okay, you want me to do wha????" overall today was a great day! when i got home i changed clothes and did a little grocery shopping. i had to pick up grocery for the rest of the week.

is it weird for you because it's not weird for me...

so, remember i just said i had to go by the grocery store after work. just as i was finishing up and heading to the front counter to check out. i realized i had to go and make a quick exchange. i run through the store and guess who i spot. (remember a few weeks back, i mentioned someone here being hella concerned because they were deleted from my fbook page?) well, i spot this person in the store and not thinking they were not on my page any longer (because it is not that serious right?) i say "hey girl how are you? long time no see?" not really thinking about the entire fbook issue. because for me she was only one of the almost 200 people that i had zero contact with and was just randomly deleted from page. so, it was so obvious that she was so nervous to talk to me. she was turning red. not really making eye contact. acting as if she had been bitten by a rabid rabbit. she eventually warmed up to me and by that time i thought she was 100% insane and politely ended the conversation with a "alright girlie it was nice see ya, don't be a stranger and i gotta' get home before my butter melts." i really don't understand these chicks now a days. seriously there is not a huge age difference between she and i. but it just seems like there is such an immaturity level. the girls worry about the wrong things non stop and are so unable to keep their composure. hell when i was 22 i had graduated. and had a career as a traveling photographer. and living on my own. these kids are just lame and so wrapped up in the wrong things. (such as fbook friendships, worrying about what people think of them and so on and so forth...just lame really lame)

and today is wednesday...

so i actually went to bed early last night. i was so on top of things i completed 2 out of the 4 "projects" and i was kicking ass and taking names and feeling really good about the amount of work i had completed and was satisfied with the completion of my assignment. i went to bed relatively early (well early for me is like 1am). before i went to bed i powered off my laptop and i realized that there was some kind of maintenance that was automatically running on my laptop. i put it to "sleep" placed it on my desk and went to bed. i was feeling good i didn't have to wake up until really late

why is my phone going off before my blackberry???

i was sleeping so hard, so peacefully so snug in a bug like a rug (ha ha i made a funny). and i be damned if my phone was not ringing at like 9:15am. (mind you, i was not scheduled to be to work until 1:30 and i didn't need to be up until 12pm). i get an urgent call indicating that i needed to submit one of my "projects" asap. i am like okay. i would be more than happy to come into work a few mins early and transfer my presentation from my usb to your inbox or even print out my plan. right? um, not so much. it appears it was needed asap. and the best option was for me to send the presentation as an attachment from my laptop into the "inbox" of the requested person. i thought. oh okay no problem i will get it to you asap. so, i got the email information. confirmed the address and ended the call with "it's on its way!" now i open my laptop and notice the screen says it has 6 completed out of the 9 configurations. so what do i do? do i power off the computer possibly losing all data and screwing up my laptop or do i call the person back and tell her to hell with that shit i will bring it to you when i get my ass to work. no sooner or no later. peace! i did the first option. i (even though my laptop clearly stated to not close down my laptop and to wait for the configuration to be completed) i closed it down anyway and even proceeded to flip it over and take out the battery. (what in the hell was i thinking???) i then power it back up and nothing. not a damn thing pops up on my screen. by this point i am like oh hell no! so i shut it down and restart it. i do this for a good 10 mins. i then say a silent prayer go and take a shower waiting for a miracle. i get out of the shower and still nothing. so i am livid by this point. oh i am cursing and shouting to the top of my lungs. so pissed at my self. so pissed that i had to send this assignment instead of waiting until my laptop finished configuring. i decided to get dressed and go into work a good 3 hours early. i was playing out in my head what i was going to say and who i was going to say it to. oh i was pissed. then all of a sudden. something (God) told me to go back to the computer and restart it. just as i did an actual image on my screen came up and it restarted. i was able to send the file without any problems. i said thank you to God and proceeded to finish getting ready for work. now ordinarily i dont go into to work early on the days i go in late. so today, i decided to go ahead and go in about an hour early and have lunch and proceed with the rest of my work day. my day went really well. i had a really productive day and things ended much better than what they began.
and then i am home...

so remember yesterday i casually mentioned i went to the grocery store. well, today when i get home i decide to make dinner. and my dinner was going to consist of american food: french fries and fried beef tips. so i grab the "oil" that i grabbed from the store yesterday. i skype with my mom and ask her how much oil do you put in the pan when making fries (as i haven't actually really owned a pot set a day in my life-i am a george foreman, microwave kinda gal). my moms reply was "quite a bit." i then notice the oil is really watery. and i don't think too much of it. i then sprinkle a little bit in another pan to cook my tips. as the pot with the broccoli comes to a boil i realize that it looks like water and it smells kinda funny. i place the pot right under my nose and take a whiff and my nostrils burn as i inhale the fumes of vinegar. now just who in the hell goes to the store and purchases vinegar mistaking it for cooking oil? me thats who! can you believe it? now yesterday i had made the exact same meal minus the french fries. so my mom asks out of curiosity (we were still chatting on skype) "did you not notice that yesterday?" and "how did you fry your meat in vinegar yesterday shayla." hell. i don't know her guess was as good as mine. i guess i am the lame one after all. here i am calling people lame every change i get. and thinking everyone is totally and utterly ridiculous and i take my crazy to the store and not only do i purchase vinegar instead of cooking oil but i cook with it two days in a row. mistaking it for oil. and does not make the discovery until way after the fact.

so...overall this week has been good. i have been so super busy this week. but it could be worse. i could be bored to tears. and have nothing to do. i know some are probably saying. i must not be too damn busy taking time to write this long ass blog. but to those i say. mind your own damn business and you're lame!

until next time...

Sunday October 18th

okay so first and foremost, it has been exactly a week since posting my last blog. and i must say i am having a difficult time remember each day so that i am able to update this blog. i know there are a lot of things that happened during the course of the week but i can't vividly remember them. so, with that being said i think that i will no longer delay posting a blog until each sunday.

so today, i will blog about the last two days...here goes...

so, actually let me start with friday night.

here goes...

friday night, i touch bases with miss emma and suggest that she give me a call the following morning. and when she calls me i would consider that my wake up call and i would go ahead and take my time getting ready, have breakfast and get my things together for my wkend trip out of town. i end up staying up pretty late friday night and all of a sudden waking up with the sunday sun peeping through my bedroom window.

here comes saturday...

so, my black berry/ alarm wakes me up hella' early but i decide to shut it off anticipating emma's phone call. i guess i fall back asleep and the next thing i know i awakened again look at the clock and it is after after 12:45pm saturday afternoon. i immediately jump out of bed. reach for the phone and dial up emma. no answer. by this time i am thinking one of two things. perhaps she called me this morning and i was so tired i missed the call. and then i realized i have never slept that hard that i wouldn't be able to hear the phone ringing. i mean c'mon it is in the same room with me less than 20 feet away. so then i think perhaps she changed her mind. i decide at that point to go ahead and make myself "brunch" and skype my mom. hoping to hear from emma soon. one way or another.

suncheon? what already? huh?

so, i st down to eat my breakfast and next thing you know my phone rings. emma called to let me know that she was just about in suncheon (my city) and that she will call me as soon as she arrives. i immediately think. oh no. let me hurry up and eat and get ready to get out of here. as soon as i finish my breakfast (which by the way consisted of 2 pancakes) my phone rings and emma tells me she is at the bus station and to take my time getting ready the bus for busan was not scheduled to depart for another hour and a half (depart time of 3pm). so, then i think okay cool but then i think well, that means we wont get to busan until way late (busan is 3 hours away).

just in the nick of time...

so, i literally shower, paint my face put on my clothes and shoes pack a few things for the trip and run out of the door. with about 45mins to get to the bus station. ordinarily this is more than enough time. today not so much. for the first time ever, i had the most courteous korean driver ever. my driver decided to let every person cross the street. not cut off cars and drive less than the speed limit. and of ALL days he decided to do this today!

open up...

i literally pulled up to the bus station at exactly 2:58. i hauled ass from the cab across the street and ran into the bus station. in search for emma. emma was there with tickets in hand. we hurriedly went to the bus just as the doors shut and the driver was backing out of the parking space. we made it just in time.

next stop potatoes and powerade...

so, about 45mins into the bus ride. we pulled over to a rest stop and got off. i decided NOT to go to the restroom i had just left home not too long ago right? we went into the store and grabbed snacks. i decided to go with powerade. emma and i both decided to grab the potatos that were on the grill cooking. even though my first mind told me to get the corndog.

back on the bus...

now, i told myself that i wouldn't drink too much powerade as there is not a bathroom on the bus. as promised i drank less than half of the powerade and stuck the rest in my purse. all of a sudden out of nowhere, i had to go pee! and i had to go really bad. really really bad! i am sitting on the bus almost in a panic as i uncomfortably sit in my seat frantically looking around the bus hoping to spot an empty isle so that i am able to pee in a cup or something. if i didn't go i was going to wet my pants. how tragic would that be? i finally am forced to ask emma to give me her empty drinking cup and i ask her to switch seats with me as i carefully pull down my leggings and attempt to pee in this cup. because of the stress of literally being assed out on a bus full of people as much as i wanted and needed to go. NOTHING would come out. i then angrily sat there about to cry and wet my pants looking from left to right in search of any possible sign that we were now in busan and ready to get off the damn bus.

bright lights and coat tails...

so, then i finally notice people on the bus gathering their belongings and we approach a city. i am overjoyed that we have arrived. however, by this point i am praying to God that when i stand i don't completely wet my pants. i stand up and as soon as the bus comes to a stop i bolt off of the bus and go into the bathroom where there is a line. i be DAMN. and then someone comes out of the stall and i hurriedly go in and it was the best minute of my life. free at last free at last. thank God almight my urine is free at last!!!!

fire what???

so once we get situated we give cici a ring and we ask how do we get to where she is. cici tells us how to get to the fireworks via subway. we follow the instructions and about 45mins later arrive in the area where the fireworks display are to take place.

move it or lose it sista....

so then after walking for another 15 mins we arrive. well kinda. my word. there were a million plus people there. seriously. there was no way we were going to get close to the beach (where the fireworks were happening) without pushing and elbowing people out of our way. i decide to stand to the side and watch the fireworks in the sky. it was pandemonium at it's finest. it was odd that there was no security to direct the crowd. just thousands and thousands and thousands of people hanging out.

i'm over it...

emma and i decide either we are going to push our way to the front or leave. we decided to go with the last option. we left. heading back to the bus terminal. we were planning to get something to eat in that area and quickly catch our bus back that same night.

dinner for two, three or four....

after walking around i spot a really cute restaurant and ask emma if we should try it out. it was a self serve/cook buffet korean bbq place. great choice.

gwanju or suncheon...

so emma reminds me that if we are going to get the bus back tonight we should finally get out of the restaurant. after realizing she was completely right we leave and go back to the bus terminal.

making a long story longer...

so, needless to say we got turned around on the subway ride back to the bus terminal and ended up missing our bus and we had to stay the night in a hotel. correction motel.

suncheon bound...

after, finding a motel and sleeping un-peacefully. we were up first thing this morning and caught the bus back home. emma heading to gwanju me on a direct bus back to suncheon.

never so happy...

i was so super excited to be back home. i immediately got home. showered, washed my hair put my clothes in the dirty clothes bin, skyped my mom. loaded my photos on fbook and crashed. waking up about 7hrs later.

that was my wkend. nothing to brag about. it was interesting. let's just put it this way the next tme i go to busan i will leave much earlier or not go at all.

until next time...
